Atkins Residence, Nanaimo

A contemporary interpretation of traditional narrow lot homes found in the Old City Bowl.  Located on a 30 foot wide lot on Milton Street, the house is organized around a central courtyard that provides natural daylight, natural ventilation, and a private landscaped courtyard.  Inspired from Winni the Pooh's Galleons Leap (Gills Lap), a hidden rooftop observation deck provides peak views of Nanaimo harbour and the coastal mountains.
